The UK’s leaders in wastewater heat recovery

Recirc Energy is accelerating the path to Net Zero for local authorities, universities, water companies and industrial firms by wastewater heat recovery.

Recirc is transforming the way buildings are heated

Net Zero needs bold, sustainable innovations. Our wastewater heat recovery solutions are poised to transform heat delivery.

Why wastewater heat recovery?

Proven, trusted technology

Wastewater heat recovery (WHR) is a proven technology that captures excess heat from wastewater. Across the UK and Europe, many projects use municipal wastewater for large-scale heating, serving major industrial users and heat networks.

Efficient (warm) & inexhaustible heat source

WHR is a highly reliable and efficient way to generate renewable heat and cooling from sewer water. A sewer network is a ready-made heating/cooling network running under our feet, carrying an almost inexhaustible supply of energy right to the doorstep.

Significant carbon saving impacts

Heat recovery from wastewater can help meet targets for cutting CO2 emissions and boosting renewable energy use. Producing 1 kWh of heat with a boiler needs 1.1 to 1.3 kWh of fossil fuel, while WHR heat pump systems use only 0.2 to 0.4 kWh of electricity for the same heat output.

How we work

Our specialist consultancy, turnkey project delivery and technology solutions are helping to solve major climate and energy transition challenges.

Consultancy

We provide specialist consultancy services to organisations – and multi-disciplinary consultancies – that are looking for new ways to cut carbon and create value from wastewater.

Projects

We work with a wide range of end users to find new ways to ‘un-tap’ new potential for heat decarbonisation across their estates. Unlike our competitors, we offer real-world experience of system operation.

Technology

Every project is different. We understand the need for flexible, modular systems. Our portfolio of packaged systems is available in optimised sizes and tailored to meet the vast majority of project needs.
